TheS2 (2008) was a
medium-format LEICA S2 SLR camera for professionals. that featured
Automatic focus, and a new series of lenses. Not quite "medium format",
a CCD sensor made by Kodak, that had 37 million pixels and was 56% larger area than a "full-frame″ 24×36 mm DSLR sensor. yet in a body only slightly larger than a
"full-frame" digital SLR, or roughly just a bit smaller than the R9 + DMR combination.
was replaced in 2012 by the Leica S - typ 006 - which has a new sensor
board with improved noise characteristics. Otherwise, very
similar to the S2.You
